Practice Director & Consultant Psychotherapist in Advanced Clinical Training
Originally from Austria, I work as a counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice, as well as being a mum to twins. I am also a fully qualified teacher and personal adviser with over 14 years’ experience of personal development in groups and training in the UK and in Vienna, Austria. Before joining the Oak Tree Institute full-time, I worked for the local authority, supporting young people with multiple and complex issues. Over the years I have trained in psychotherapy, life-coaching and meditation.
My areas of interest and expertise include relationship difficulties, parenting skills, post-natal depression, fertility issues, anxiety, eating disorders, depression and issues around self -esteem.
I see my therapeutic role as two-fold: facilitating clients to develop personal insight; and also to provide them with the tools to change and realise their individual values and goals. I enjoy working creatively and using different techniques to facilitate the therapeutic process. I believe that every person is destined to live a happy, successful and fulfilled life.
Qualifications and Training
I am in my 9th year of advanced clinical training as a psychotherapist, whilst working towards a master’s degree in psychotherapy (Transactional Analysis) and registration. I adhere to the ethical framework of the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP).
I also possess an honours degree as a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and hold a Diploma in Paedagogics (Dipl. Paed.). While working for the local authority, I successfully completed an NVQ 4 in Advice and Guidance, which also equips me to work pragmatically with a wide range of issues, as well as psychologically.
As part of my on-going personal development I have attended neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) seminars with the internationally acclaimed life-coach Anthony Robbins as well as a number of seminars in Austria with “Coaching You”, the Mental Training and Life-Coaching Institute.
I am a registered member of the United Kingdom Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA). [UKATA is a member organisation of the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists – UKCP]. As an ethical practitioner all of my clinical work is supervised, further enhancing the safety, effectiveness and quality of my practice.
